Modern Face Girl on Vinyl Flooring
There’s something about this face that I really enjoy. Alcohol markers and an ink pen were all it took to complete this quick vinyl‑flooring piece. I’ve discovered how fun it is to draw on vinyl—each flooring texture and pattern changes the outcome, giving every portrait its own personality.
I now have more than fifty works in my Vinyl Art Collection: stylized portraits, abstracts, puzzles, bookmarks, drink coasters, and more. It’s fun to create the art, and just as fun to repurpose it in so many ways. These pieces make wonderful gifts, and collectors love the prints I make from the scanned originals.
If you’re curious, try it yourself—ask a flooring retailer to save their discarded samples. You might be surprised by what is hiding in those little squares of vinyl.
